Fire Watch Program

The Angel County Forest Service maintains a seasonal Fire Watch Program to monitor wildfire activity across designated high-risk zones.

Program Overview

Fire Watch personnel are assigned to elevated observation towers throughout Angel County forest districts during peak fire season.

Primary duties include smoke detection, radio communication, daily condition logging, and perimeter visibility reporting.

Seasonal Recruitment

ACFS accepts seasonal Fire Watch volunteers annually. Applicants must be 18 years or older and capable of extended isolated assignments.

Training includes radio protocol, wildfire assessment, and emergency reporting procedures.

Reporting Procedures

All personnel must log daily visual observations. Unusual activity should be documented and reported to district supervisors immediately.

Field anomalies not classified as wildfire activity should be recorded for internal review.

    Personnel experiencing disorientation or auditory disturbances should report symptoms to supervisors.
